Jim Edmonds has been counting down the days until his Italian wedding with his fiancé Kortnie O’Connor. And, in one of the latest posts shared to his Instagram Story, the former MLB player and current commentator seemingly threw some shade at Meghan King, and potentially his other ex-wives as well, as he spoke of his and Kortnie’s “genuine love.”
Just over a week after it was confirmed that the former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member filed a restraining order against Jim, accusing her former spouse of “frequent and consistent verbal abuse,” Jim said he’s “finally” found a “genuine love” and admitted that he couldn’t love Kortnie any more.
“[Eleven] more days [Kortnie O’Connor],” Jim wrote in the caption of a September 14 selfie of him and his soon-to-be-wife. “Finally a genuine love.”
The previous day, in honor of there being just 12 days until their big day, Jim shared another image of the two of them at their massive home in St. Louis.
“[Twelve] more days… I couldn’t love you any more [Kortnie O’Connor],” he declared.
During an interview with PEOPLE in May, Jim confirmed he and Kortnie were set to wed at Villa D’Este in Lake Como, Italy on September 25, saying their ceremony would be “very small” with an “All Roads Lead to Amore” theme.
“As I’m sure everyone knows, this isn’t Jim’s first time around. So we just wanted to make it about enjoying everybody — all of our close friends and family. An adventure for everybody to enjoy, not another wedding in the church,” Kortnie told the outlet. “I planned it in Italy for that reason … Jim’s never been there. I thought it might be an experience for his kids, and just to celebrate our relationship and let everybody enjoy it as well.”
After Meghan filed documents against Jim, who was also previously married to LeAnn Horton and Allison Jayne Raski, claiming he was not only verbally abusive, but had failed to follow the rules of their custody agreement for their children, including five-year-old daughter Aspen and four-year-old twins Hayes and Hart, Jim shared a statement, via his rep, Steve Honig.
“This request for an order of protection is completely baseless and furthermore makes an absolute mockery of the pain suffered by the millions of women in this country who are legitimate victims of abuse,” the statement read.
Jim and Meghan appeared alongside one another on The Real Housewives of Orange County from season 10 through season 12.
