Lisa Rinna got on the bad side of the American Institute for Cancer Research with comments made about the often-fatal disease on the finale episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

After Lisa was seen telling her castmates that she chose to expose Kathy Hilton, and all she allegedly said and did amid her meltdown in Aspen, because if she would have taken it to her grave, she would “get sick and get cancer,” a rep for the cancer researchers called her out.

Lisa is “just using the specter of cancer as emotional blackmail to justify airing her grievance,” a rep for the American Institute for Cancer Research rep told TMZ on October 12, adding that she’s completely wrong about how cancer begins.

According to the organization, there is no strong evidence to back the idea of stress leading to cancer. So, when it comes to Lisa’s information, her comment was “certainly not based on reputable research.”

Lisa “has taken a popular (but likely false) concept” to justify her claims about Kathy.

On the RHOBH finale, Lisa explained to her co-stars, “I’m not gonna take it to my grave cuz I’d get sick and get cancer if I didn’t express this … That’s how bad it is, to have these kinds of things go on and not express them, I’ll get sick and die because it’s that vile.”

The statement from the American Institute for Cancer Research comes just days after Lisa’s former co-star, Camille Grammer, slammed her for the comment on Twitter.

After an RHOBH viewer asked Camille how she felt about Lisa’s “disgusting” comment, Camille labeled her as “pathetic.”

“I’m curious [Camille Grammer] how you feel after seeing Lisa use cancer like this to excuse her poor [behavior] when you’ve lived through it? Disgusting,” the fan tweeted.

“I had cancer so I thought this was in poor taste. Pathetic,” Camille replied.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 reunion begins airing tonight, Wednesday, October 12, at 8/7c on Bravo.
