Melissa Gorga and her husband, Joe Gorga, gifted their daughter Antonia Gorga with a Porsche Macan for her seventeenth birthday in August 2022. However this week, after an argument involving their youngest son, Joey Gorga, 12, the Actual Housewives of New Jersey couple took away her keys.
Whereas showing on Jeff Lewis‘ radio present earlier this week, the place she mentioned parenting with the Flipping Out alum, Melissa opened up in regards to the household spat that resulted in Antonia being banned from driving her new automotive for a complete week.
“If I’m gonna be sincere with you. My manner is to yell consistently,” Melissa admitted of her parenting on the January 26 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “[It’s] horrible. It’s like what I do, like I let you know the second you do it, and I’m mad the second you do it.”
As for her husband, Melissa mentioned Joe simply “shakes his head.”
“Joe simply listens. He’s a kind of buildup guys… After which he explodes,” she defined.
Based on Melissa, her newest blowup with Antonia passed off final Sunday after an extended weekend of actions with the household. As she recalled, Joey requested to go snowboarding with associates simply as they settled in. And, whereas the situation the place he does that is simply 15 or 20 minutes away, the couple was in no temper to return out — and didn’t have a nanny working on the time.
“We had been exhausted. Antonia was there. [And] she has a wonderful automotive that we pay for,” Melissa defined. “[So] Joe tells Antonia, ‘Antonia, get in your automotive. Go take him. He needs to go snowboarding.’”
Whereas Melissa described her teenage daughter as a “good child,” Antonia refused to drop Joey off, telling her father, “Completely not.”
“It went backwards and forwards for a superb 20 minutes of her simply refusing to drive her brother,” Melissa revealed. “She’s like, ‘He’s so annoying. Why do you must go, Joe?’ [And] we had been like, ‘We requested you for a favor. You’ve the whole lot. We do the whole lot for you. Stand up and drive your brother.’”
And though Joe is often the calm mum or dad, he “misplaced his sh-t” and advised Antonia, “Gimme your automotive keys,” and has caught by the punishment within the days since.
“She hasn’t pushed that automotive the entire, this complete week. The primary time we’ve ever accomplished this to her,” Melissa shared. “And he’s like, ‘cuz you’re gonna be taught respect. Like when your mother and father are caring for you, and so they’re paying your automotive cost, and we ask you for a favor, the following time we ask you, you’re gonna get off your a– and also you’re gonna drive your little brother.’”
The RHONJ forged member went on to inform Jeff that Antonia has been “tormenting” her and “shedding it” all week whereas Joe has continued to stay to his weapons. In actual fact, even after Melissa pleaded with him to rethink on account of her points with having to drive Antonia locations herself, Joe wouldn’t give in.
“So I’m curious to see if she says ‘no’ to us once more. And that is why you want to take it away longer, greater than a few days to the purpose they’re like, ‘Oh sh-t they’re critical,’” Melissa famous. “Generally I really feel like my children will cross me once more, however they gained’t cross Joe as a result of he simply held that out for every week straight.”
